ROMAN CATHOLIC CONSUMERS COOPERATIVE (ROCACOCO)
On April 28, 2010 the Roman Catholic Consumers Cooperative (ROCACOCO) was founded. In time with the finding of the miraculous image of Snr. Sto. Nino de Cebu, ROCACOCO marked its fourth year anniversary this year. Its existence has contributed much in the parish and the community. One of the impacts of the cooperative is the help it extended to families in stretching their budget since they can buy goods at cheaper prices. With the initiative and support of the friars assigned, the two-storey coop building was built within the compound of the parish in Brgy. Taruc, Socorro, Surigao del Norte.
Products:
Almost all the products sold in the cooperative store are school supplies. Everything that a student needs in school is available in the ROCACOCO. (e.g., pen, pencil, coloring materials, bags, pad paper, notebooks, sharpeners and many more). Household goods are also available like drinking water, soap, clothes and etc. Available also in the cooperative are religious articles like bibles, images of saints, devotions, candles and the like,
Extension: GARMENTS FACTORY
In December 2013, the ROCACOCO extended its product services by creating a garments factory at the San Agustin Pastoral Center (SAPC). It aims to help skilled Catholic workers in Socorro, who find it difficult to apply in garment factories belonging to other religious communities or groups. It offers quality products of clothes at an affordable and negotiable price. The garments factory has been partnering with Augustinian schools in the Philippines as clients.
