Children of Mary
The Children of Mary is an organization for young people between the ages of 10 to 18 who wish to consecrate themselves in a special way to our Blessed Mother.
The organization is deeply rooted from its history of the Our Lady, who gave a command to St. Catherine Laboure in July of 1830. The Blessed Mother wanted a new confraternity established in the Church that would be linked with the gift of the Miraculous Medal. Following at the same time the mission of the Children of Mary Congregation, that is, they are to foster extraordinary devotion for the Blessed Mother among the young. By placing themselves under the protection of the Holy Virgin they trust that they will lead them to a complete union with her Son. In our local chapter in the Parish of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, the members of the Children of Mary take the responsibility of leading the Holy Rosary before the start of the Sunday mass and the Aurora every first Saturday of the month. Moreover, since May is dedicated to our Lady, the members also facilitate the Flores de Mayo celebration. |
